The First of Many to Come

So here's to new beginnings! It has been over a year since the last time I wrote on this blog, and there is no better time so start again! So many wonderful things have been going on! However, no matter how up and down my life has been over the past year, the Lord is so good, and He is consistent!

I am finishing up my final semester of undergrad... who would have thought this fun would be ending so quickly!?! But I have realized that as I come to the end of one part of my life, unexpected new doors open up that make the future look even more exciting...

I have always been the type of person who is not a big fan of change and transition times because I felt so unsure of what the future would bring. However, the key that I have learned is to know the One who controls the future, and in my life that has made all of the difference. Granted, I still get nervous when I know my life is getting ready to drastically change, but there is a peace in knowing that the Lord has much better plans for me than I have for myself!

I would have never expected for my life to be in the place that it is right now! Lately, I have been thinking a lot about the scripture in Romans that discusses how all things work together for the good of those who love the Lord. That rings out all the time in my life! He doesn't just take the good and make it work towards what is good... He takes the mistakes that I have made and the things that I have done that have been pleasing. He has turned my life into a lovely picture no matter how much I have tried to throw water on the canvas... He is the painter of my life and the writer of my heart! I love Him, and I hope you do as well!

Well, back to the whole "new exciting doors" comment... wow, I forgot how easy it is for me to get on tangents when I write in my blog! haha

God has allowed me to be incredibly active in my Church in Greensboro. I am now leading on of the small groups that meet every week! We have a wonderful group of college or just out of college age ladies that come together and share so many joys and struggles! It is such a wonderful place! One thing that has been exciting about life lately, is that my passion for music and guitar (which took a break for awhile) is being spurred on by the Lord! It is so incredible! Hopefully, in the near future, I will be able to fill in at Church!

Another exciting door is the prospect of missions... the Lord has given me such a passion for missions! I am seriously praying for guidance about the timing for a missions trip (possibly right after I graduate?) There hasn't been a writing on the wall yet, BUT I can hardly stay seated because I am so passionate about it!

Of course, one of the most incredible additions in my life has been a new a joyous relationship with the one and only Brett Taylor Crisp! At some point I will write the story of how all of this came to be, but not today... it truly will take a novel! (only kidding) I never experienced a true relationship that was made at the work of God's hand. If not for the Lord, and His dramatic work in Brett's life and in mine, none of this would have happened. Brett is such a blessing in my life and I can't wait to write more about him... but for now I have to run... ohhh, I kinda hate to leave you hanging!
